Meeting Maria

July 10, 2007

Maria

I was glad to have been able to talk to Maria Sarkis for a short while at lunch today.  She is an accomplished Lebanese artist who is looking to establish a presence in the Paris art scene.  I mentioned the Galerie Simonoff (which had been started a couple of years ago by my friend Jean-Baptiste Simon, now in Photography at Wanted Paris) and Envie d’Art.   Any suggestions ?  Get in touch with Maria on her website or through Facebook where she hosts her own group.

Jérôme Delacroix is a journalist and expert in collaborative work.  He wrote a book on wikis that was published last year and that I always recommend to our customers and partners who want to get a broad perspective on enterprise collaboration with wikis.  At XWiki, we have also been working together on some change management issues at a customer site this year.

Jérôme will be speaking at the next conference of the GFII / ACSEL working group on new tools for publishing information which will take place on December 5th in Paris.

Celebrating Usability on November 14th 2006

October 29, 2006

World Usability Day 2006

I will be attending the World Usability Day 2006 Conference held here in Paris organized by the FING.  Last year I was lucky enough to have been invited by Thierry Grandsart to attend the party at Nice where I was attending the First Conference on Competitiveness Clusters with Anthony and Florian.  It looks like Teresa Colombi of LudoTIC will be there, it will be good to get back in touch.  Thierry did some good work for XWiki in the summer of 2005 on usability in XWiki.  A lot of that is getting into production through the XWiki 1.0 Skin.

David Andriana @ XWiki

October 3, 2006

David Andriana @ XWiki

I hadn’t seen David Andriana for a couple of years since he left the Paris area to live near Bordeaux. We had had the opportunity of working together on some internet projects in the late 90’s. So I was really glad to get a surprise email from David sometime last week saying that he was coming to visit old friends in Paris for the weekend. We got to see David on Friday and had an interesting discussion concerning distributed software architecture with Ludovic ! David was quite interested in XWiki and I feel we will soon be working together once again. Thanks for your visit David and that fine wine !

Back from Toulouse

September 14, 2006

Marc and Marie

I had a wonderful trip to Toulouse where I spread the word about XWiki to various interested parties. I made a point of visiting my friend Marc Bureau who was a founding member of our Rueil Atelier Jazz group. He is now living on the top floor of a high-rise in the center of Toulouse with a great view of the city. I’m looking forward to visiting again !
