Scientipôle Initiative Supports XWiki

Ludovic and I were happy to both receive a check for 20.000 euros yesterday from the hands of Pierre Audibert, director of Scientipôle Initiative.

Scientipôle is a really great initiative that helps entrepreneurs fund their R&D intesive business. They have been doing this for a number of years and the effort is scaling well.  They now have a seed fund that has already started investing in promising start ups here.  Many thanks to Christophe Camillieri, Denis Pansu of the FING, Daniel Joutard, Cyril Rollinde, and Pierre Audibert and all of those who supported us in getting this far.  This money will be put to good use helping to support our current growth rate.

Celebrating Usability on November 14th 2006

I will be attending the World Usability Day 2006 Conference held here in Paris organized by the FING.  Last year I was lucky enough to have been invited by Thierry Grandsart to attend the party at Nice where I was attending the First Conference on Competitiveness Clusters with Anthony and Florian.  It looks like Teresa Colombi of LudoTIC will be there, it will be good to get back in touch.  Thierry did some good work for XWiki in the summer of 2005 on usability in XWiki.  A lot of that is getting into production through the XWiki 1.0 Skin.

I’ve always liked the Air France commercial that goes on TV here with the Chemical Brother’s Asleep for the Day.  I’m discovering more of her music with Mazzy Star.  I wonder what she is up to now ?

Flashplayer 9

I just installed the Flashplayer 9 on my Edgy laptop. Working great ! I can now see Olivier’s neat Flash animation on the Cap Digital site we built at XWiki.

Cards in the World Series

Saint-Louis used to be my home town. Now that was quite a while ago but I’m still excited when I get some good news concerning the Cardinals, the city’s beloved baseball team. I hope I will be able to watch some of the games on internet TV.
